Grandpa Jumbo began roasting small batch coffee (before it was cool) in 1997. Roasting in the back of a small Salem, Oregon coffee shop, Grandpa Jumbo’s goal was to craft small batch, specialty coffee to his friends and family, and have a little fun while doing it. Before long, Salem discovered and fell in love with Odolla coffee, and Grandpa’s hobby had turned into a small business. Grandpa Jumbo’s seasoned roasting techniques and recipes were passed down to his daughter in law, Heather, who roasted for another 10 years, before passing it on to her daughter in law, Rebecca. Today, we are a third-generation family roastery, and each small batch is still roasted with the care and expertise that Grandpa Jumbo began his hobby with, back in 1997.
